Abstract
Photocatalytic hydrogen evolution has attracted remarkable attentions as a process of solar energy utilization. Using solar energy as a sustainable energy source, the low bandgap photocatalysts are essential to make the process economically feasible. A discussion covers the role of cocatalysts, which are generally essential components for photocatalytic hydrogen evolution; and a case study on hydrogen production from H2S splitting. This is an abstract of a paper presented at the 25th Annual Saudi-Japan Symposium on Catalysts in Petroleum Refining and Petrochemicals 2015 (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia 12/7-8/2015).
