Abstract
Ultra-wideband transient microwave scattering measurements are performed using optoelectronically switched planar antennas. The laser-based system produces freely propagating bursts of picosecond duration electromagnetic radiation, with a bandwidth extending from 5 to over 70 GHz. Measurements are presented for scattering from one and two conducting strips and from a conducting sphere. All measurements are compared to theoretical computations. © 1993 IEEE
