Abstract
The surface organometallic chemistry represents an approach to the preparation of well-defined active sites, the possibility of observing elementary reaction steps and the development of a fundamental basis for the synthesis of tailor-made catalysts. This approach has been exemplified by the perfectly well-defined complexe of hafnium supported on a silica surface (1) : (≡SiO)HfNp3.
