Abstract
Treatment of (EtO)2SeO with Aerosil silica dehydroxylated at 500 °C results in the formation of a unique surface derivative [≡SiO-Se(O)OEt] (1), which has been fully characterized by elemental analysis, IR, labelling reaction and solid-state NMR spectroscopy. This is the first example of a silica-supported selenium(IV) derivative. (
