Abstract

Tetramethyltin reacts rapidly, even at low temperature, with the hydroxy groups in the supercages of HY zeolite, resulting in the formation of well-defined -Sn(CH3)3 fragments in the supercages. This reaction is very selective as there is no reaction with the hydroxy groups in the sodalite cages and prisms.
