Abstract

Metal nanoslit arrays are investigated to tailor the electromagnetic field distribution and the relative contribution of cavity modes and surface plasmon polariton modes for refractive index sensing, permitting spatially selective sensing for optical biosensing applications. ©2010 IEEE.
