Abstract
The synthesis of the aliphatic polyether surface copolymers confirms the high degree of structural control resulting from the convergent synthesis. These orthogonally protected dendrons demonstrate that the periphery of dendritic compounds may be selectively functionalized. This precise control over molecular architecture makes the convergent synthesis an attractive route towards well defined macromolecules for catalysis, drug delivery, and light harvesting.
