Abstract

Many research efforts have been conducted to better understand the dynamics of airport operations. Among them, this paper focuses on aircraft movement on ramps. Observations were made at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, and procedures of aircraft movement are obtained from the observation data. Aircraft movements are modeled both in nominal operational conditions and in disturbed situations. The ramp operation model helps to increase our understanding of complicated movements of aircraft on ramps.
