Abstract
Raman and photoluminescence (PL) measurements have been made on a series of KBr pellet samples of poly(1,4-phenylene vinylene) (PPV) oligomers. The PL shows a large red-shift with increasing chain lenght, and its energy converes to that of the polymer for chains containing six phenyl rings. In contrast, Raman-active vibrations show very small shifts with increasing chain length. © 1991.
