Abstract
We investigate the outage probability of cellular mobile networks with smart antenna systems which are able to successively suppress the strongest active interferes. The desired user fading statistics is assumed to be flat Rayleigh, Rician, or Nakagami, whereas the interfering signals are assumed to be independent and subject to slow flat Rayleigh fading. We consider both interference limited systems as well as systems affected by both interference and noise. In all these cases closed-form formulas for the outage probability are given in terms of standard tabulated mathematical functions. The resulting expressions are computed numerically and the numerical results are discussed for several cases of interest. In addition some of these analytical results are validated by Monte Carlo simulations.
