Abstract

A special cubic statistical model is presented as a useful tool for estimating the mechanical behavior of PVDF/PMMA/PS ternary blends. The model requires the determination of tensile strength values for only seven formulations and predicts the blend behavior in the whole concentration range. The compatibilizing effect of PMMA on the PVDF/PS immiscible blend is also demonstrated using electron transmission microscopy and discussed in light of the mixture model.
