Abstract
The major source of energy today relies on the combustion of fossil fuel. Understanding the complex combustion phenomena requires precision and finesse in the tools used. Optical tools, based on modern advances in optical technology, enable unique measurements in combustion, without disturbing the flow field. This work reviews our recent spatially and temporally resolved gas flame temperature, chemical concentration and soot particles volume fraction measurements.
