Abstract
The polarized emission characteristics of keto-defects were investigated by studying the polarized photoluminescence of aligned polyfluorene samples after photooxidation in air. It was observed that the low energy emission was only slightly less polarized than the blue band, and that the transition dipole moment of the green emission band was situated parallel to the chain direction. Qunatum-mechanical simulations showed that the polarization of the fluorenone emission was influenced by local disorder.
