Abstract
In this study, we will use the random walk method to quantify the impact of surface roughness on NMR T2 response. To reduce the complexity of the pore geometry, synthetic surface roughness was created on spherical pores, which is manifested as tetrahedral-like spikes. The level of roughness was characterized by a dimensionless parameter, referred to as relative roughness. As a result, we propose a new correction model to correlate NMR T2 response in a rough pore with T2 response as a function of rock relative roughness.
