Abstract
The complex Pd(TPPTS) 3 reacts in water at room temperature with butenols (ionization) or butadiene (protonation) to produce two isomeric hydrosoluble η 3-allylic palladium complexes ([Pd(syn-C 4)(TPPTS) 2] + and [Pd(anti-C 4)(TPPTS) 2] +) and three isomers of butenylphosphonium salts of TPPTS. The pH has a great influence on the reaction rates and on the stability of the products.
