Stem cells are seen as a new era in medicine due to their ability to differentiate and repopulate human tissues. Studies on their biology uncovered their incredible complexity and led to the creation of induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSc). MicroRNAs (miRNAs), in the beginning seen as an oddity, have been revealed as the cornerstone in the network regulating pluripotency and differentiation, becoming essential in understanding stem cell clockworks. In this chapter we try to clarify the role of miRNAs in the pluripotency-differentiation network, as well as their importance in regenerative medicine through reprogramming techniques.
