Abstract
This paper describes the economic performance of a solar water heater at Changi International Airport Services, using an economic figure of merit based on life cycle savings. The thermal performance of the system in terms of solar fraction for different collector areas is evaluated by using a simulation program with the meteorological data of Singapore. An average load profile obtained by monitoring the system over a period of time was used for the simulation program. The economic parameters have been selected from trends of past years.
