title = "Laser trapping and micro-manipulation using optical vortices",
abstract = "The usefulness of the optical vortices for particular laser trapping and manipulation experiments that can not be performed using Gaussian beams was analyzed. A laser trapping system based on the use of phase diffractive optical elements (DOE) implemented on a liquid crystal display to generate optical vortices with different topological charge was presented. The particles were trapped in the center of the beam, where the intensity was maximum. Trapping with optical vortex with a topological charge of 10 was shown.",
