Abstract
An iterative computational method, based on the method of A. Ben Israel and D. Cohen (1966), for computing the pseudoinverse A** plus of a matrix A is developed. Singular value decomposition (SVD) is used to analyze its properties (covergence, stability, etc. ) and to compute the lower bound of the number of iterations. A careful error analysis is performed, and four new formulas are investigated that can be used directly to calculate the upper bounds on the error once the distribution of the singular values of A is known.
