Abstract

Although state-of-the-art photocatalysts display a solar-to-hydrogen (STH) efficiency lower than 3%, Zhou et al. report in Nature an indium-gallium-nitride-based photocatalyst that can achieve an STH efficiency of ∼9%. These unprecedented results could get us closer to the industrial implementation of this technology.
