Abstract
Using poly(ethyelene oxide) (PEO) precursors fitted with a pyridyl moiety (A) at one end and two (B2) halides at the other, hyperbranched polymers were obtained by triggering their self-quaternization upon heating. The same precursor was used to obtain A-PEO-b-(PS-B)2 miktoarmed copolymers whose quaternization by a trihalide compound gave rise to a dendrimer-like PEO3-b-PS6 copolymer.
