Abstract

Hydrogenation and dehydrogenation are among the most important chemical processes and are usually carried out with a catalyst. This chapter reviews recent developments related to the field of heterogeneous catalysis for various industrially relevant catalytic hydrogenation-dehydrogenation transformations over hydroxyapatite (HA)-based catalysts. The significant applications of HA, both as a support and as a catalyst, are described with an emphasis on its performance, stability, and reusability for hydrogenation and dehydrogenation reactions. New findings are summarized with relevant examples pertaining to the use of HA.
