Abstract
We report on high-speed red vertical-cavity surface-emitting lasers (VCSELs) emitting at the low-loss transmission window of polymer optical fibers around 650nm wavelength. A bandwidth of 2 GHz with a 3.7-Gb/s data rate in free space has been achieved.
