Abstract
The swelling and emulsification dynamics of a soluble lamellar phase of an ionic surfactant is investigated. Upon mixing this surfactant with brine we observe a myelinic instabilities at the interface between large vesicles and the aqueous phase. During the early stages of emulsification we observe pearling instabilities. At later stage of emulsification we observe very large tubes with diameters that exceed SO microns and whose length exceed several order of magnitude its radius.
