Abstract
Four-stroke internal combustion engine with at least two intake valves (511, 512) and at least one exhaust valve (509) for each cylinder. The valves are controlled by two camshafts (517, 518), at least one (517) of which is coordinated with a rotational phase variator, by means of which the rotational phase shift of the camshaft relative to the engine crankshaft can be varied. The intake valves are arranged to be controlled by different camshafts, which means that phase shift variations in one camshaft result in variations in the combined opening time of the intake valves.
