Abstract

A facile strategy for preparing 1D conducting polymer nanobelts with the width of the belts down to less than 50 nm is presented. Strong enhancement in the conductivity of individual polypyrrole (PPy) nanobelts is observed, due to lengthening of the π-conjugation length of PPy belts with decreasing belt width, as confirmed by micro-Raman measurements.
