Abstract

Preliminary results are presented for a study of the electronic band structure of thin single crystals of 4-BCMU polydiacetylene using angle-dependent ultraviolet photoelectron spectroscopy with polarized light from synchrotron radiation. In particular, the crystal momentum dependence of the lowest binding energy π-band, the π-band dispersion along the b-axis, has been mapped. The experimental results are compared with the results of quantum chemical calculations.
