Abstract

We present a study of photocurrent generation and charge transport in polyfluorene/PCBM blend films. Diode rectification ratios of 106 and photocurrent (PC) enhancements of four orders of magnitude over the dark response make the polyfluorene/PCBM blend system a sensitive photodiode material and one of the most promising polymer blend systems for use in a solar cell. We have also studied the effect of varying PCBM concentration, optical excitation intensity and the unusual, strong dependence of the short circuit current on the operating temperature.
