Abstract

In this chapter, we study extensions of constant faults at inputs of gates. For quasiprimitive bases containing functions with two or more essential variables, we describe the maximum extensions of constant faults that preserve the efficiency of diagnosis. For each closed class of Boolean functions containing functions with two or more essential variables, we find a quasiprimitive basis that is, in some sense, optimal from the point of view of diagnosis the maximum extensions of constant faults. We also study the complexity of implementation of functions from closed classes by formula-like circuits and the complexity of diagnosis of corresponding to them iteration-free circuits relative to the maximum extensions of constant faults.
