Abstract

This corrigendum corrects the definition of the preignition criterion stated on page 184. It should read: “By our observation, whenever Da* = τcharign < 0.0005 for the Ar containing mixture, preignition can likely affect the ignition process. However, at higher temperatures (Da* > 0.0005), the chemical process is dominant and homogeneous ignition is observed.” Given this revised definition, the demarcation of blue vertical line in the right plot of Figure 11 should be “τcharign < 0.0005”. The revised figure is given below.
