Abstract

Time resolved photoluminescence and transient absorption spectroscopy reveal an ultrafast charge transfer process, occurring within 39 ± 9 ps, between the ZnO host and the Cu dopants in Cu-doped ZnO nanowires. Optical orientation experiments reveal a long-lived, highly spin-polarized excitonic emission from this system.
