Abstract
Current rapid prototyping software based on STL model has limitations in accuracy and flexibility that restricts its industrial application to some extent. A new software directly driven by the 3D CAD system GEMS 6.0 is developed with the abilities of adaptively slicing the object into layers, taking zigzag or spiral way of filling each layer, automatically generating auxiliary support structure and outputting CLI file. Some key algorithms and application examples are illustrated.
