Abstract

The purpose of this short note is to attempt to explain the density variation across the thickness of injection‐molded articles. The effects of a gate frozen process on the fluid motion and density buildup during the packing stage were schematically described, determined, and mathematically simulated. The calculated results are qualitatively consistent with the previous data.
