Abstract
A circulating fluidized bed reactor model for synthesizing acrylonitrile is propossed. A modified reaction kinetics network has been given with the kinetic parameters for two different catalysts (type A, type B) obtained by fitting the data acquired from commercial fluidized bed. The simulation results show that the axial gas dispersion has strong influence on the yield of acrylonitrile. Comparison between CFB reactor and turbulent fluidized bed reactor shows that the yield can increase by 10%∼11% for type A catalyst and 8%∼9% for type B catalyst. This great increase in yield is largely due to the reduction of axial gas dispersion in CFB. As the reaction rate is relatively slow, the average solids density has strong influence on the conversion.
