Dr. Carin is a world-class researcher in the areas of Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Machine Learning (ML). Across all fields of computer science, he is ranked #435 worldwide and #279 in the US. His background in AI is highly complementary to the new digital thematic priority at KAUST. He was a co-founder of the small business Signal Innovations Group, which BAE Systems acquired in 2014, and he co-founded the company Infinia ML in 2017. He is a Fellow of the Institute for Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) since 2001.
