Examples include metals, polymers, minerals, and biomaterials. Materials and devices for energy conversion and sensing: thermoelectrics, nanostructured carbon, artificial olfactors and taste receptors Smart surfaces/coatings: omniphobicity, biomimicry, wetting, adhesion, and friction
