Description

This course covers all aspects of water evaluation and management in arid lands. It integrates the technical aspects of the groundwater and surface water hydrology within a framework of water management. All components of integrated water management are covered, including source development, source maintenance, monitoring, water planning, water economics, cultural considerations, conflict management, and others. The course also includes discussions on desalination and reuse of wastewater within the overall context of water management. The impacts of global climate change on water management in arid lands are used to illustrate the larger scale, global aspects of water resources management and planning.
