The course covers: the theory of Hamilton-Jacobi equations, Hopf-Lax formula, weak solutions, uniqueness; conservation laws, shocks and entropy conditions, Lax-Oleinik formula, weak solutions, uniqueness, Riemann's problem, long-time asymptotic; nonvariational techniques, monotonicity methods, fixed-point methods, sub/super-solutions, nonexistence and blow-up, geometric properties of solutions, gradient flows.
